Luxury Villa AI Design Challenge
INTRODUCTION
AI Architectured is the 1st competition platform dedicated primarily on Artificial Intelligence (AI) assisted or generated Architecture & Design. Our competitions are focused on showcasing the architecture and designs that are partially or wholely generated by AI.
Our competitions are a way of focusing and harnessing some of the somewhat wasted or unfocused AI architecture and design outputs we see on social media with a chance of an award and reward for those architects, designers and creators who with such productivity explore, investigate, experiment and innovate.
These competitions are an opportunity for even more architectural and design experimentation, exploration, speculation and discussion. Hence, the topic and parameters are always open, broad, flexible and to a certain degree, referential – given that we are interested in motivating architects, designers and other creatives to provide their own unique “point of view” – with concepts and designs that push the very limits and boundaries of what is possible in the built world.
TOPIC
The theme and topic for this AI architecture & Design competition is “LUXURY VILLA”.
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge for this competition is to present an AI (Artificial Intelligence) generated or aided design concept for a luxury villa in any setting or context provided it is executed using an AI (Artificial Intelligence) tools such as Midjourney, DALLE etc. This means concept can entirely be generated using AI (Artificial Intelligence) or partially assisted by AI. Most importantly, it must be aided or assisted by AI (Artificial Intelligence).
OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION
The objectives of this AI aided competition are the following:
• Encourage architectural design solution and ideas that utilises Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Explore and discover the practical possibilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in architecture and design practice.
• Recognise the level of innovation and creativity made possible with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in architecture and design.
• Showcase the collaborative nature of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to an architecture and design practice.
• Recognise both practical and functional contributions of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to architecture and design practice today.
• Reward quality design solutions aided by Artificial Intelligence (AI) that responds effectively to the theme and topic.
• Promote the design of an AI aided structure that takes into idea and context in delivering solutions.
• Stimulate discussion of ideas regarding the advancement and intervention of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in architecture and design solutions.
COMPETITION STRUCTURE
This is a single stage open Competition to identify the most appropriate, contextual and consistent design concept in accordance to the general and specific objectives of the competition.
COMPETITION STATUS
This is single stage open competition for ideas and concepts only. There no plans to realise or contruct the AI (Artificial Intellegence) assisted Luxury Villa concept.
ELIGIBILITY
Anyone can enter a design for this competition. There are no requirements for professional qualifications. Hence, entrants may include:
• Individuals, architects, designers, planners, students, artists, and other digital creators.
• Teams / Multidisciplinary teams – maximum of four (04) members.
INELIGIBILITY
Individuals directly associated with AI Architectured including employees, administrative and executive staff or their families may not participate. And also individual and direct family members of those on the competition judging panel.
REGISTRATION METHOD
Online. The participants must register for the competition online using the facility provided on AI Architectured website and pay any relevant fees using the secure payment method detailed in the ‘METHODS OF PAYMENT’ section below.
Note:
Refunds can not be offered under any circumstances once a registration is made. We strongly advise prospective participants to carefully consider their entry before registering for the competition as this forms part of the terms and condition of all competitions.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Entry for the competition can be securely made ONLINE using the following payment methods:
• Credit or debit card.
• Paypal account.
On successful registration, an email with the order number which will constitute your unique competition registration number.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT
There are no need for formal presentation of full set of Elevations, Plans, Sections, Sketches or Perspectives for this competition, just at least one external view(s), an interior view(s), text file with AI prompt instruction and tool used (useful for verification that concept is from the entrant).
This means all submissions should consists of the following digital files in a single submission email:
• External View – at least one (*.jpg, *.png, or *.pdf format).
• Internal View – at least one (*.jpg, *.png, or *.pdf format).
• Prompt command – (*.txt format). This should contain Title of project, AI Tool ie such as Midjourney, DALL-E etc, Finishing tools ie photoshop etc and the prompt script.
• (Optional) Additional explaination or description of the main concept behind the design including material, location, organisation (optional, but not neccessay) – (*.txt format).
Note:
All written text (or numerical) description relating to the concept should be expressed in English.
Submission File
• File Name: Each image must include the Registration Number (for example: 012345_exterior_view1.jpg).
• Maximum Email Size (with attachments): Twenty Megabytes (20 MB). If larger, then prior approval will be required.
• Presentation Image Dimensions (If using a single board): Landscape format (2600 height x 3500 width pixels)
• Submission method: Email. Submissions should be made by sending design concepts files via email to: [email protected] with the subject of email your Registration Number (for example: Luxury Villa Challenge 2024 – Registration Number 012345).

Note:
Any attempt by participants to contact any of the jury under any circumstance in relation to the competition, will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
JUDGING PROCESS
Our panel of judges will review and evaluate the final shortlist to select the eventual winners. And for the public award, the ranked concepts will be put out for vote. Judging will be based on criteria of the topic, innovation, context, individual experience of jury, and their unique sensibilities to design and architecture in relation to any submitted design.

The decision of the Jury is final and binding as in accordance to the terms and conditions of the competition.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Submitted design concepts will primarily be evaluated based on the following criteria:
• Quality and originality of approach to AI assisted architectural design.
• Strength of the design in relation to basic architectural and design priciples.
• Clarity of the design perspective and presentation.
• Showcase of the power and potential of AI assisted design.
• Consistency and coherence of the design to the aim and theme of the competition.
• Exploration and innovative approach to material, textures and new spatial experience.
• Adaptability of design to the possibility for new types of structures, forms and interiors in the real world.
